Simply dissolve 25 capsules per 1 Liter of distilled water. Water must be 37°C or warmer to completely dissolve gelatin capsule. Agitate. Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes before use. Buffer is set for 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C using a 10mM solution of Tris/Tris HCl. pH will vary depending on temperature.

Fluid Thioglycollate Medium (FTM) with Indicator is a general purpose medium recommended for sterility testing and for the cultivation of anaerobes, aerobes, and microaerophiles. Casein and yeast extract provide nitrogen, essential vitamins, and amino acids. Glucose provides a carbon source, sodium chloride maintains osmotic balance, and L-cystine and sodium thioglycollate act as reducing agents. This is supported by a low amount of agar, which reduces the oxygen permeability through the medium. Resazurin is an oxidation indicator.
